Project Steps Guidance

This section leads you through steps to identify and maximise your destinations’ tourism potential. Like any endeavour a tourism project should not be rushed into, because although tourism has the potential to boost rural economies, it can bring impacts and detriments unless planned properly.

At HBSE we assist communities through a structured process to get the best results, however there are far more destinations out there than we can work with at one time, therefore we have tried to distil the important points so anyone can use them. By following this approach you should be able to develop a project that is an aspiration of what local stakeholders want their locality to offer visitors, and which maximises the benefits that visitors bring to the area.

The key stages to consider are below, click on the links to access the information.

It is highly recommended that you follow the stages in order, to ensure get the best from your project.
